Why the Title from a Poem?

Gary Loudermilk

Yes, I did get the idea for this website and blog from Robert Frost's poem "The Road Not Taken." In college, I received a double major in History and in American and English Literature along with a minor in Religion. I enjoy literature and history because they reveal so much about human nature. However, my values and beliefs are centered in my personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ and instructed by the reading of the Bible.

As we walk together through the concept of roads less traveled, we will see many examples and thoughts revealed through history, literature, and culture. But my basic purpose will always be to put forth the truth that God's plan and instruction is always our best direction and guide for decision making and the living of our personal lives.

Beginning with next week's post, I will write about the difference we find in roads that are most frequently traveled and those less traveled. While Frost's final words in his poem "and that has made all the difference" will appear, the real difference is found in Matthew 7:13-14. In those two verses Jesus states the real difference in choices that we are all ultimately faced with making in this journey of life.

I hope you will choose to read each post. On the Contact page of this website, you can make a comment, ask a question, and even subscribe to the posts. Please be gentle with any comments regarding the structure of the website. I built it for the purpose of writing. I am not a designer. Hopefully, the site will function correctly and become more useful as additional elements are added in the future. For now, I look forward to having you as a reader and one who chooses to comment.

Enjoy this second week of 2024.
